Knowle Primary School is an inclusive school, providing all children with the appropriate opportunities to help them to achieve their full potential. The needs and progress of all children are monitored and reviewed regularly by class staff, in conjunction with the Inclusion team, Behaviour Improvement Programme Coordinator (BIP Coordinator), Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Children and Families Coordinator (CAFCO) and the Parent Support Advisor (PSA).
The school has a comprehensive policy, which describes how we identify these pupils and the provision we make for them (please see our School SEND Information Report and SEND Policy below). Our SENCO ensures access to specialist provision and individual or small-group support where necessary. Parents are kept fully informed of progress and all the measures taken to meet the needs of individual pupils. We have excellent links with outside agencies, which support us when required.
Children whose needs are impacting on their progress in class receive support, through regular timetabled small group work in the specific area of need. We offer this extra support for children who may have needs in areas of cognition and learning, communication and interaction, social, mental and emotional issues, physical and sensory difficulties. The additional support available in school is detailed in the School SEND Information Report available in the documents below and in the SEND section in the Key Information tab on the left-hand side of this web page.
