My name is Miss Law and I am the class teacher of the Ravens. Our teaching assistant is Miss Valentine. On a Friday afternoon, the class will be taught P.E and R.E. by different teachers.
At the moment we are working very hard our Y6 production of Grease. The pupils are learning their lines and practising a range of songs. We ask for parents and carers to support the pupils in learning their words and we look forward to sharing the show with you on July 13th!
There are a lot of exciting and challenging times ahead during the Summer term. As secondary school approaches, we want to make sure that the pupils are as prepared as they can be about the upcoming transition and are able to enjoy the last term of their primary education.
Ravens are currently leading the word count across the whole school, with over 6, 000,000 words read! We are also very proud of Grace Blewett, who has surpassed one million words since she started Year 6. The top three word counts in the school belong to children in Ravens: Grace, Thomas and Skye. This is an incredible achievement and we hope that all of Raven class continue to enjoy their reading and pass their quizzes!
On Friday 13th October, Year 6 were evacuated on the steam train to Buckfastleigh. The pupils had to write a postcard home to their loved ones and sing wartime songs to keep up their morale! Once we arrived in Buckfastleigh, the pupils had the chance to learn about the Dig for Victory campaign, try on World War Two helmets, pack into an Anderson shelter and listen to the incredible evacuation story of a WW2 survivor.
We had a fantastic time on our trip. The pupils went to great efforts to dress up and look authentic, so thank you to all of those at home who helped them!
