I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sounds as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).   Then, watch the set 2 sound lessons at 10am and 10:15.

Note; If you ask your child to read the set 2 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.

Here is today's challenge;

Writing task;

Write a list of what you can see in this picture. Then, write a sentence about the picture.

Maths:

If you can  access this power point, explore finding one more and one less.

Make a number line on the floor that you can jump on. You can use paper to write the numbers on or paper plates. Do you have chalks?  Draw a number line on an outdoor patio or path.

Throw an object on to a number and then find one more and one less of the number you have landed on. Can you find the answer without looking? Can you get super clever and find 2 more or 2 less than the number you landed on?

Challenge;

Topic: Pick a challenge from the home learning grid.

Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. New books can be accessed online through this link. You will need to register but it is completely free. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/.

Talking Challenge;

You are stranded in an undiscovered jungle. You can only take 1 item. In my opinion, I must take a torch so I can find my way around when it gets dark.   What is your opinion?

Here is today's challenge;

English:

Great Britain has a lot of famous landmarks such as Stonehenge. The

he purpose of Stonehenge is unknown to us. It has no obvious practical purpose. It was not lived in and could not have been defended so there must have been a spiritual reason why Neolithic and Bronze Age people put so much effort into building it.  There have been many theories put forth over the years.

I would like you to follow this link to find out more about Stonehenge, you also follow a virtual tour;

https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/stonehenge/things-to-do/stone-circle/

Now, please write three interesting facts about Stonehenge. You may also like to draw a picture of it.

Remember to punctuate your sentences with capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Maths

Today we are going to be finding halves of a number.

For example: ½ of 4.

  1. Collect 4 objects.
  2. Then one at a time share them between two groups.

Also don’t forget to access https://play.numbots.com/#/account/school-login-type and you can use your propeller maths board.

Topic: Geography

Today you will revisit learning about the 4 countries within Great Britain: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. I would like you to find out 2 facts about each country.

Before finding facts about each country, you could try and find them on google earth:
https://www.google.co.uk/intl/en_uk/earth/

Here are some things you could research for each country:

  • Famous places
  • Capital cities
  • Flags
  • Food
  • Famous people

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XTGaGsyLbU Watch this video, it highlights some important things about Great Britain that you could explore further.
