I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sounds as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).   Then, watch the set 2 sound lessons at 10am and 10:15.

Note; If you ask your child to read the set 2 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.

Here is today's challenge;

Writing task;

Write list of the things you can see in this picture. What colour in Ted's bed? Now write a sentence.

Maths:

Today we are going to recap our learning on addition. Remember to chant; "When we add, the number gets bigger".

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/addition/addition-to-10

Use your fingers or objects you have around the house to solve these addition sums:

  1. 4+1=
  2. 5+4=
  3. 3+5=
  4. 8+1=
  5. 7+3=

Challenge:

Now see if you can solve these tricky robot sums. Remember to use your fingers to help you: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/addition/robot-addition

Start with numbers to 10 and if you are getting on well with those, try adding to 15.

Topic: Pick a challenge from the home learning grid.

Here is today's challenge;

English:

Great Britain has a lot of castles. They were built to defend against warring tribes and invaders and were usually built on high ground. Here is a short clip of some of the castles to be found in Great Britain https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UABSJ4fZ7Ac . Choose your favourite castle from the video clip and write four facts about it.

Where is it?

When was it built?

Who has lived there?

What is special about it ?

Don't forget to punctuate your sentences with capital letters, finger spaces, full stops and neat letter formation.

Maths

Today we are going to be finding quarters.

Task: Draw these shapes in your maths books. Colour ¼ of each shape.

Can any of the shapes be split into 4 equal parts in more than one way? You may want to draw these shapes twice to show the different ways that they can be split into quarters.

Challenge: Write a sentence in your maths book.

Topic: Science

Today we are going to look at some British trees and flowers. Here are two links to help you identify some common trees and wildflowers.

https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/trees-woods-and-wildlife/british-trees/how-to-identify-trees/

https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/trees-woods-and-wildlife/plants/wild-flowers/

Either on your next walk for exercise or when in your garden, look to see what common trees and wildflowers you can find. Draw a picture of the trees and flowers that you find and label them. You might like to make a bark rubbing or leaf rubbing and write down what tree it is from. This video will show you how.
