I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sounds as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).   Then, watch the set 2 sound lessons at 10am and 10:15.

Note; If you ask your child to read the set 2 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.

English:

Today we are going to look at Dartmoor which is very close to Plymouth. Lots of people come to visit Dartmoor every year.

Watch this video all about Dartmoor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f3TfgIpFvw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPx3YwuzsvM

Now create a visitor guide to Dartmoor explaining what they might see and include some interesting facts and pictures.

Maths:

Today we are going to be finding quarters.

For example:

  1. Collect the whole number of objects (8)
  2. Share equally between 4 groups
  3. Count each group to check they are equal

  2. ¼ of 20 =

Topic: History

Today we are going to have a look at the British monarchy.

England has had many Kings and Queens, here is a video to introduce them all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vC6okzIKQvg.

We are going to look at our current queen, Queen Elizabeth II. Here are a few facts about Queen Elizabeth II https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpToW6CTNY4

Her royal residence is Buckingham Palace in London. Here is a video to show you what it is like inside Buckingham palace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtGN2wK9g_s  Queen Elizabeth also keeps the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7GvoGQomr4  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6GVq5R0O1U  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjFdMWEozBc

Now draw a new crown for our queen, what precious gems would you use? You might also like to design a new palace for the queen. You could draw this, make a Lego model or use some junk modelling.
