English:

Watch this story called The dinosaur who lost his roar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppyiuCyNGqY

Can you write down three reasons why Sid was a good friend and three reasons why Sid was not a good friend? Would you like to have Sid as your friend? Write a few sentences to tell me why.

If you need help with your sentences, try and use these sentence starters:

Sid was a good friend because....

Sid was not a good friend because....

I would like Sid to be my friend because....

I would not like Sid to be my friend because....

Remember your sentences must have a capital letter, full stop and finger spaces. Use your sounds to help you with your spelling and write using your best handwriting

Maths:

This week we are focusing on multiplication.

As a starter activity practise counting in 2s with someone in your house.

You can also play this game https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/504/Super-Maths-Bowling-Multiplication Click on year 1 and double of numbers to 10.

Mild

Practical - Using any resources at home make groups of 2. You could use socks, toys, sweets – anything you can find!

For example, for 4 x 2 = you would make 4 groups of 2 like the picture below:

I have 8 altogether.

Activity: Using resources can you have a go at making groups of 2 and then counting to see how many you have altogether?

2 x 2 =

5 x 2 =

7 x 2 =

3 x 2 =

Spicy

To represent a multiplication sum we can use an array.

Activity: Can you solve these multiplication sums and draw an array to represent each one?

8 x 2 =

5 x 2 =

9 x 2 =

3 x2 =

6 x 2 =

Hot
