English:

Can you write about a day in the life of a dinosaur?

Think about

  • What type of dinosaur you would like to be?
  • Where do you live?
  • What do you like to eat?
  • Who are your friends?
  • What do you like doing?

https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/dino-directory.html Here is a link for some facts about different Dinosaurs.

Remember your sentences need to have capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Use interesting vocabulary and neat handwriting.

Challenge: Use the conjunction 'and' to extend one of your sentences.

Maths:

We are continuing with multiplication today.

As a starter activity practise counting in 10s with someone in your house.

Mild

Practical - Using any resources at home make groups of 10. You could use socks, toys, sweets – anything you can find!

For example, for 2 x 10 = you would make 2 groups of 10 like the picture below:

I have 20 altogether.

Activity: Using resources can you have a go at making groups of 10 and then counting to see how many you have altogether?

1 x 10 =

4 x 10 =

2 x 10 =

3 x 10 =

Spicy

To represent a multiplication sum we can use an array.

Activity: Can you solve these multiplication sums and draw an array to represent each one?

5 x 10 =

3 x 10 =

7 x 10 =

2 x 10 =

6 x 10 =

Hot

Can you solve these multiplication word problems?

Remember to read the question carefully and circle the key information.

  1. I have 10 buckets of oranges. In each bucket I have 10 oranges. How many do I have altogether?
  2. I have 9 pots of rubbers. In each pot I have 10 rubbers. How many do I have altogether?
  3. I have 4 bags of sweets. I each bag I have 10 sweets. How many sweets do I have altogether?
  4. I have 8 bags of lemonade. I each bag I have 10 bottles of lemonade. How many do I have altogether?

Remember you can also use your propeller board.

Read all about these five dinosaurs,

https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/dino-directory.html

Now find out about how they lived. https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/when-did-dinosaurs-live.html Then pick your favourite dinosaur and write a fact file about it or draw their habitat.

Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. New books can be accessed online through this link. You will need to register but it is completely free. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/
