23.4.20 Thursday

Good morning everyone,

Here's your learning for today...

Mr B laugh

English:

You have the choice of two stories to write (these are the pictures you can see at the bottom!)

Choose one, plan it, and then write it out in your English book.

I would plan it today, and then start writing it, and get it finished tomorrow. Take your time, use lots of great description.

Make them as exciting, scary and adventurous as you like!

Try to write them in PAST tense and keep it in this tense the whole way through.

Description:

The skin was as rough as a rock and hurt my hand to touch it.

Teeth gleamed at me, dripping with warm, oozing saliva. I couldn’t move.

There was a silence hanging in the air.

Ground shaking beneath my feet, it felt like the entire world was vibrating.

Maths:

Today you will be continuing to recognise place value for numbers up to 100,000. There is no video today as the activities are an extension of what you did yesterday. Don’t forget to write the answers in your maths books!

The work is in the Word Doc at the bottom...

In the top corner of your rapid recall whiteboard, you will have a space to write your number.

Range 10-20: 11

Range 30-60 : 52

Range 350-450 : 442

Range 30-99 : 92

Topic:

What is a palaeontologist and what do you need to do to become one?

Read about Dr Susie and find out what it is like to hunt for fossils!

Would you want to do this as a job?

Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record.

Spellings:

Please practise your spellings daily. These lists are on our class page. You can practise the Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and the Year 5/6 spelling lists. You all know which spellings you should be practising anyway.
