Good morning and happy Friday woodpeckers!!!
This is the last day on our Dinosaur themed week. I hope you have enjoyed it! We have got lots of other exciting themes coming up, so I hope you enjoy them all just as much. I have loved reading all of your stories, poems, seeing your pictures and maths work!
Have a fantastic weekend, stay cool!
Continue and finish your story. Remember to send them across when you’re done!
Today you will be looking at how we can use number lines to help our understanding of place value. The video focuses on rounding numbers using number lines but it links well to what you have learnt previously this week and serves as an introduction to today’s activities. Once you’ve watched the video, work your way through the mild, spicy and hot activities and don’t forget to write the answers down in your maths books.
(Friday maths in the Word Doc right at the bottom!)
In the top corner of your rapid recall whiteboard, you will have a space to write your number.
Range 10-20: 10
Range 30-60 : 38
Range 350-450 : 358
Range 30-99 : 39
Look at this website and explore the 3D skull of a dinosaur called a ‘diplodocus’ (nickname – Dippy).
Can you write down 5 facts that you have read about?
Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record.
Please practise your spellings daily. These lists are on our class page. You can practise the Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and the Year 5/6 spelling lists. You all know which spellings you should be practising anyway.
