I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).   Then, watch the set 2 sound lessons at 10am and 10:15.

Note; If you ask your child to read the set 2 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.

Ask your child to read the words below using Fred-talk before blending the words; 'oo' look at a book

book

look

cook

took

shook

Now ask them to try spelling the words; Say the word slowly and allow them to decode the word independently to spell it. Keep a record of their score to share with us.

English:

Watch this YouTube clip to hear the story ‘Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus’ and join in with the actions once more;https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eUNYIFwEGY

Today, you are going to draw and label your very own dinosaur to join the Dinosaurumpus.

Questions to talk about;

Will you dinosaur have a long or short neck?

What movements and sounds will your dinosaur make?

What does it like to eat?

What name will you give your dinosaur? We called ours ‘Hillosaurus’ and ‘Dinogough’.

Maths:

Play this game to review prior learning;

http://www.crickweb.co.uk/ks2numeracy-shape-and-weight.html

Choose 3 different fruits or vegetables in your house. I want you to use scales if you have them, or fell the weight in your hands if you don't.

Can you place the fruit and vegetable in order from lightest to heaviest?

Which is heaviest and how do you know?

Which is the lightest and how do you know?

Can you label them; lighter, heavy, heaviest

                              heavy, light, lightest

Challenge and play idea: Make a cake or something sweet with your adults at home. You can use the scales to help weigh the different ingredients.

Topic: Pick a challenge from the home learning grid.
