Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home.

From Monday 20th April, new films will be released at the times shown below from Monday to Friday. The new Speed Sounds lessons YouTube schedule is now available on their website

Each film is around ten to fifteen minutes long and will be available for 24 hours.

I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).   Then, watch the set 2 sound lessons at 10am and 10:15.

Note; If you ask your child to read the set 2 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.

Ask your child to read the words below using Fred-talk before blending the words; ‘ea’ cup of tea

tea

seal

real

dream

scream

Now ask them to try spelling the words; Say the word slowly and allow them to decode the word independently to spell it. Keep a record of their score to share with us.

Storytelling;

Today, I would like you to create a story map to retell 'Room on the Broom'.  Use your story map to retell the story to a family member at home.

Remember to keep to 10 key parts of the story.

You might like to facetime a family member you have not seen and share your story map with them.
