I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).   Then, watch the set 2 sound lessons at 10am and 10:15.

Note; If you ask your child to read the set 2 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.

Ask your child to read the words below using Fred-talk before blending the words; ‘oi’ spoil the boy

spoil

boil

join

point

noise

Now ask them to try spelling the words; Say the word slowly and allow them to decode the word independently to spell it. Keep a record of their score to share with us.

Here is an extra challenge; Can you write a sentence using the 'oi' digraph?

Storytelling;

Today, we are going to think about how the witch is feeling at different points in the story.  Draw a picture of the witches face to show how she is feeling, then have a go at drawing your own feelings.

Now draw a picture of a giant and then write words around the picture to describe him.

Think about:

  • What is his name?
  • What does he like to do?
  • What does he like to eat?
  • Where does he live?

Don’t forget to use some interested adjectives (describing words).
