Prime Numbers

Today we are going to be looking at prime numbers. 

 

Prime numbers are numbers that can only be divided by themselves and one. 

 

Composite numbers are numbers that are not prime numbers, therefor can be divided by other numbers other than themselves and one. 

 

E.G
 

Prime: 2, 3, 7 and 11 as they cant be divided by another other number. 

 

Composite:

  • 9 (can be divided by 1, 3 and 9)
  • 12 (can be divided by 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12)
