English

WALT write persuasive arguments in sentences.

In today's Zoom we have discussed a range of persuasive writing techniques and how to use them.

Today's task is to write 5-8 persuasive arguments as to why should or should not have to wear school uniform.

Use these techniques in your writing:

  • Rhetorical question - A question to get the reader thinking. It doesn't require an answer.

  • Flattery - make the reader feel flattered. Compliment them so they keep reading.

  • Emotive language - make the reader feel an emotion.

  • Counter argument - Acknowledge the other side of the argument. Show that you have considered it.

  • Repetition - Repeat words to get the point across.
