English

Today we will be learning about our new story.

But first you need to make some predictions about our new story. Discuss what you think the story might be about with your grown ups or siblings at home. Below are some clues to help you and questions to think about.

Try and use these sentence stems in your discussion:

I think that...

I predict that...

I think this because...

They might be going to...

Activity

Use the images below to write some sentences about what you think the story is about.

Try and use the sentence stems to help you with your writing.

Sentence stems:

I think that...

I predict that...

I think this because...

They might be going to...

Below are some examples of how the children could write about their predictions. If they can, encourage the children to write why they are making certain predictions. Extend them to use the conjunction 'because' like the second example.
Don't forget you can access www.myon.co.uk/login/ to carry on reading a variety of books, some even have quizzes! This acts the same way as AR reading in school. We can view the books you are reading, how many words you have read and what score you have achieved on a quiz. It would be great if you could carry on reading as much as possible. Why not keep a record yourself of the books you have read. If there isn't a quiz online, there may well be in school for you to access at a later date. We look forward to hearing about the amazing books you have read smiley
