Today we will be creating a new character.

But first, lets remind ourselves of our story. Watch the video below.

We will be writing our own journey stories, but before we can do this we need to create a new character for our stories. 

Your first activity is to choose an animal for your story. Discuss your new character with your grown ups, use these sentence stems: 

My character is a.....

They have a....

They are...

 

Then, draw a picture of your character and annotate the picture with adjectives (red, small, furry) and expanded noun phrases (small, black eyes). 

 

Look at my example below.

Your second activity is to turn your annotations into sentences. 

 

In your sentences I would like to see:

  • Capital letters, full stops and finger spaces
  • Your sentences make sense
  • Fred talk for spelling
  • Adjectives or expanded noun phrases
  • Conjunctions - and, because, but,
