English

Today we are going to be writing setting descriptions.

Our aim for this book is write our own journey story, because lost and found is a story about a journey. Yesterday, we created new characters for our story. Remind yourselves of your new character by looking back at yesterdays work and discussing with a grown up in your house.

For our setting descriptions you need to think about your animals habitat.

Task

Your first activity is to draw a picture of your animals habitat and annotate it with some adjectives and expanded noun phrases.

Look at my example below. I chose a parrot in yesterdays lesson and its habitat is a rainforest.

Your next activity is to turn your annotations into sentences.

In your sentences I would like to see:

  • Capital letters, full stops and finger spaces
  • Your sentences make sense
  • Fred talk for spelling
  • Adjectives/expanded noun phrases
  • Conjunction - and, because, but
  • Suffixes - ful, less

Look at my example below.
