Journey to the River Sea - Chapter 7

Today we are going to read chapter 7, learn new vocabulary and analyse Eva Ibbotson's writing by using the P.E.A.R technique. We will analyse Miss Minton, Mrs Carter and the twins using the P.E.A.R method:

P = Point - make a clear statement to present your idea.

E = Evidence – select a short quote to back up your point.

A = Analyse – explain HOW the quote backs up your point, exploring connotation.

R = Reader – explore what the reader (you) might be thinking and feeling as a result.
