Foxes

Welcome to Fox Class

Hello and welcome to Fox Class!  Your children are settling in well and enjoying their new class - all of them working incredibly hard.  Helping your children with their learning this year is Ms Edwards, who teaches from Monday to Thursday and Mr Greenslade, who teaches on Fridays.  We also have help from our fabulous TA - Mrs Treloar - who will be supporting your children on their learning journey.  We are also lucky to have a student - Mr Johns - in our class this term.  He will be working with the children under our supervision until Christmas.

PE sessions

On Wednesday, Fox Class will have two PE lessons with Mr Blacker.  The children have been provided with new PE tops and hooded sweatshirts, which they will need to wear to school on their PE day.

Autumn Term Overview

Our topic this term is 'The Stone Age to the Iron Age'.  The children will be learning about everyday life and the key changes during this period of history.

Homework and Home Learning

Your children will receive regular homework - more details to be provided soon!  It would be fantastic if you could hear your children read at home and encourage regular independent reading.  Children will also have weekly spellings to learn and times tables to practise.  Foxes spellings will be set on Thursday and then tested the following Thursday.  They will bring home a spelling list every Thursday to practise for their spelling test.

Keeping in touch

It's great being able to meet so many of you, as you drop off and collect your children.  You are always welcome to talk to us at the beginning or at the end of the school day, if you have any worries or concerns.

Creating cave art at our very busy 'Stay and Learn' session.

Fox Class have been mammoth hunting during story-telling. They have imagined life as a stone-aged boy called Kroll. They are now ready to write their stories!

In history we collected stones to discover which made the most effective tools.
