English:

Today you are going to write your story.  Look at your story map from yesterday and tell it to a member of your family.

In your book

Write your story carefully, use your best handwriting and read each sentence carefully to check it makes sense.  Remember to add lots of description and interesting detail.  Make sure you have 12 animals in your story. 

Story writing checklist:

  • Use adjectives to describe your characters and your setting
  • Write in paragraphs
  • Use full-stops and capital letters carefully
  • Use commas in longer sentences
  • Include detail
  • Start sentences in interesting ways
  • Read each sentence carefully to check your writing makes sense
  • Check your spelling

 

Read your story to a family member.

 

Maths:

Today you will continue to practise addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You will be practising arithmetic questions and using written methods, so you will need to decide on the best methods to use.  Can you solve the problem in your head - or do you need to use a written method?
