Good morning cool kids,
Happy FRIDAY! I hope you have a brilliant weekend. Next week is 'half term' so we will set lots of different fun projects for you to have a go at instead of English, maths and topic.
Enjoy! Stay safe, and take care!
Miss you all lots.
Today it is ‘Biological Diversity Day!’
You are going to think about this term, ‘Biological Diversity’. What on Earth does that mean?
Follow this website link and find out more…
You need to read the paragraph about each of these points below, and write a basic explanation about each of them – you don’t need to copy it all out!

Today you will be recapping cube numbers and then solving some addition and subtraction sums involving square and cube numbers. Watch the video below on cube numbers as a recap.
Now try the sums below:
Mild: 1) 3² + 2³ =
2) 4² + 3³ =
3) 5² - 2³ =
4) 10² + 3³ =
5) 4² + 2³=
6) 3³ - 4² =
Spicy: 1) 5² + 3³ =
2) 4³ - 8² =
3) 5³ - 5² =
4) 4³ + 3³ + 2³ =
5) 10² - 4³ =
6) 8² + 5³ =
Hot: 1) 5³ + 4³ + 3³ =
2) 12² - 5³ =
3) 6³ - 5³ =
4) 10³ - 6³ =
5) 6² + 6³ =
6) ____² - _____³ = 0
Now have a go at the challenges below:
1) Rosie says that 5³ is 15. Identify and explain her mistake.
2) Teddy’s age is a cube number. Next year his age will be a square number. How old is he now?
3) ‘To work out 3³, you need to do 3 x 3 which is 9. Then you need to do 9 x 9 which is 81.’
Identify and explain the mistake here.
In the top corner of your rapid recall whiteboard, you will have a space to write your number.
Range 10-20: 20
Range 30-60: 35
Range 350-450: 401
Range 30-99: 77
Lots of animals around the world are endangered. This means they are at danger of becoming extinct and their numbers are critically low. Watch the videos/links to find out more.
For your task, write down 8 reasons why animals around the world are endangered and then write down 5 things you think we should do to help these endangered animals. Which animals do you want to help save? Can you write a list of different kinds of animals that are becoming endangered? Could you make a video, PowerPoint, poster, poem or song about saving these animals?
Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record.
Please practise your spellings daily. These lists are on our class page. You can practise the Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and the Year 5/6 spelling lists. You all know which spellings you should be practising anyway.
