Friday 3rd July

Good morning everyone, we hope you have a lovely day and have enjoyed this weeks learning. 😊

Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on YouTube for children to watch at home from 9:30am and will be available for 24 hours.  All films will be in separate categories on the YouTube channel.

I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).

Note; Keep asking your child to tell you the set 2 and 3 sounds in their home learning packs so that you know which sounds to practise.

You can use this website to play some fun phonics games  https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/

English:

Today we are going to write our news paper report about the enormous turnip. Try to include some key facts about the story and use some interesting adjectives and expanded noun phrases to capture your readers interest.

You can use the format below to help you organise your writing;

Maths:

Continue to practise your 2, 3, 5 & 10 Times Tables. If you know you need to learn different times tables to enable you to fly from your country in the times tables trek, then I would continue practising those. Remember there are lots of games online you can use to help you. www.topmarks.com is great for this!

Today we would like you to answer questions based on this weeks learning; Good luck!

In the top corner of your rapid recall whiteboard, you will have a space to write your number.

Year 1 (1-10) - Today's number is 8

Year 2 (20-50) - Today's number is 48

Handwriting:

We would like you to practise your weekly spellings in our fancy handwriting style. Please have a look at the documents attached at the bottom to show you the joins.

Reading:

Login on to myON  https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html where you can read a variety of different books and most of them have a quiz to go with them. I can login and see how you are getting on, so I would love to see you reading different books and try and score 100% on your quizzes. If you have any problems accessing this, please email me on our class email and I will help you.

Spellings:

Please practise your spellings daily. You can practise the Year 1/2 spelling but move on to Year 3/4 spellings if you can already spell the Year 1/2 words well. Ask an adult to test you on a Friday.
