Phonics:
Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on YouTube for children to watch at home from 9:30am and will be available for 24 hours. All films will be in separate categories on the YouTube channel; https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ
I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).
Note; Keep asking your child to tell you the set 2 and 3 sounds in their home learning packs so that you know which sounds to practise.
Remember you can also play some fun games here; https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources
English: This week we are going to look a lot of stories that help to teach us about how to look after ourselves and keep healthy. We are going to start with a story called, ‘Big smelly bear’. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYcpNcZIu10
Watch the story carefully and then box up the story like a story map, a template is shown below. If you have time, write a letter to big smelly bear to tell him why he must have a bath.

Discuss; What does being healthy mean to you?
Can you create a poster to show how we can stay healthy? As you learn more during the week you can add more ideas to your poster.
Handwriting:
We would like you to practise your weekly spellings in our fancy handwriting style. Please have a look at the document attached at the bottom to show you the joins.
Reading:
Login on to myON https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html where you can read a variety of different books and most of them have a quiz to go with them. I can login and see how you are getting on, so I would love to see you reading different books and try and score 100% on your quizzes. If you have any problems accessing this, please email me on our class email and I will help you.
Spellings:
Please practise your spellings daily. You can practise the Year 1/2 spelling but move on to Year 3/4 spellings if you can already spell the Year 1/2 words well. Ask an adult to test you on a Friday.
