Good morning everybody!
We hope you had a good ‘half-term’, as strange as it might have felt! This week we thought we would celebrate our own families and friends! We hope you have a great week and enjoy celebrating the people who are important to you!
When you have completed any of your work, please email it to your class teacher. Here are our email addresses:

English:
We are going to start this week by thinking about our own families. All our families are different and that is great! Let’s start with a picture! Imagine you are having a family portrait (either a photograph or a painting) and draw it in your book or on a piece of paper. You can draw your close family, or you can include your whole family, including relatives that don’t live with you – aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents – whoever you consider to be a part of your family – even your pets! Add a lovely frame to finish it off! Oh…and don’t forget to include yourself!
Now you need to think about what your family means. What is important to your family? What values does your family believe in? In the past families would have had ‘mottos.’ Mottos were short statements that showed the attitude of the family, how they lived their lives and what they wanted to be. Have a look at the list of mottos below and discuss them with a family member. Which do you like? Which would suit your family?

Here are you tasks for today:
Choose a number - and complete your rapid recall board.
Don’t forget to practise Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS)
Topic:
You are going to create a ‘family coat of arms’ or ‘family shield’. Have a look at the examples below. Think about 4 things your family likes to do and draw a picture in each section. Make sure you write your family name and add your new family motto. You can display your new ‘family coat of arms’ in your home for all the family to see. You can use the template below or draw your own.
Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. Continue using myON to do your online reading and quizzes at: https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html. We can see how many books you have read and how you are doing on your quizzes. So, go on, let’s get reading!

Please practise your spellings daily. This week’s spellings are below. You will need to see which ones you want to work on. If you can spell all of the Year 2, then do the Year 3/4. We will be focusing on 10 spellings every week. On Friday, get someone at home to do your spelling test with you!
