Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home.
From Monday 20th April, new films will be released at the times shown below from Monday to Friday. The new Speed Sounds lessons YouTube schedule is now available on their website
Each film is around ten to fifteen minutes long and will be available for 24 hours.
I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see). Then, watch the set 2 sound lessons at 10am and 10:15.
Note; If you ask your child to read the set 2 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.
Ask your child to read the words below using Fred-talk before blending the words; ‘ou’ shout it out
Now ask them to try spelling the words; Say the word slowly and allow them to decode the word independently to spell it. Keep a record of their score to share with us.
This week we are going to be looking more at shape. We looked at 2D shapes last week and this week we are going to focus on 3D shapes. How are 2D shapes and 3D shapes different. Remind the children that 2D shapes are flat and 3D shapes are fat. Children to play: https://www.education.com/games/3d-shapes/
Can you identify any shapes around the house that are 3D? Which ones can you name?
Challenge: Choose a shape activity you could do at home. Don’t forget to send me photos of your learning?
