Good morning everybody! This week we are going to learn all about ‘Plants and Growing’. We hope you have a fabulous week and we look forward to seeing what you get up to. Send your work to our class email addresses:

We have chosen the old classic ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ as our story this week. I am sure you know it very well. You task today is to read the story and answer the questions.
Answer these questions in full sentences in your book.
Do you think Jack was right to take the giants things?
Can you think of a different ending for the story?
Now watch a different version of Jack and the Beanstalk – from the giant’s point of view.
In maths this week, you will be consolidating your understanding of the number operations, using mental arithmetic and written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You will need to know when to use mental arithmetic and when to use a written method.
There are 3 great adding and subtracting learner guides and helpful video clips at:

Don’t forget to practise Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS)
This afternoon you are going to learn about the life cycle of flowering plants. Watch this clip to learn more: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zgqyrdm.
In your book or on a sheet of paper create a poster to show the life cycle of a flowering plant. Use the posters at the bottom of the page to help you:
In your garden, on a walk or in the local park, can you identify flowers that are at the different stages of the lifecycle? If you are allowed, pick flowers to show each stage of the life cycle – dandelions are very good for this, as they are everywhere, it won’t matter if they are picked and you will find them at all stages of the cycle – but do check with an adult before doing this. You could arrange these in a life-cycle diagram and take a photograph.
Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. Continue using myON to do your online reading and quizzes at: https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html. We can see how many books you have read and how you are doing on your quizzes. So, go on, let’s get reading!
Please practise your spellings daily. This week’s spellings are below. You will need to see which ones you want to work on. If you can spell the Year 2 spellings, then do the Year 3/4. We will be focusing on 10 spellings every week. On Friday, get someone at home to do your spelling test with you!
