Monday 29th June

Good morning everyone. We hope you have had a lovely weekend and you are ready for another exciting week of learning. This week our new topic will be learning about plants and growing! We look forward to seeing pictures of your amazing work – keep sending them to us using our class emails 😊

Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on YouTube for children to watch at home from 9:30am and will be available for 24 hours.  All films will be in separate categories on the YouTube channel.

 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ

I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).

Note; Keep asking your child to tell you the set 2 and 3 sounds in their home learning packs so that you know which sounds to practise.

You can use this website to play some fun phonics games https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/

English:

Here are some of the pictures from this week’s story. Can you predict what our story might be about?

Can you use them to make up your own story? You could either write it down or draw a story map and tell your story to an adult.

Now watch the story to see if you are correct; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGMpVrkm99I

Maths:

Continue to practise your 2, 3, 5 & 10 Times Tables. If you know you need to learn different times tables to enable you to fly from your country in the times tables trek, then I would continue practising those. Remember there are lots of games online you can use to help you. www.topmarks.com is great for this!

Warm up

Today we are going to to revisit our 2 times-table. We will use our times-table knowledge to solve problems.

Today we are going to learn what plants need to grow well.

Watch the video clip and complete the quiz,

In your books, complete the sheet drawing a plant that grows well and a plant that doesn’t grow well.

Handwriting:

We want you to practise your weekly spellings in our fancy handwriting style. Please have a look at the document attached at the bottom to show you the joins.

Reading:

Login on to myON  https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html where you can read a variety of different books and most of them have a quiz to go with them. I can login and see how you are getting on, so I would love to see you reading different books and try and score 100% on your quizzes. If you have any problems accessing this, please email me on our class email and I will help you.

Spellings:

Please practise your spellings daily. These lists are on our class page. You can practise the Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and the Year 5/6 spelling lists. You all know which spellings you should be practising anyway.
