Welcome to the Greta Thunberg class!
This year we have named our classes based on inspirational from around the world and from throughout history.
We are a mixed Year 5/6 class this year and children are encouraged to reach the stars and to strive and achieve the best that they can.
Myself, Mr Bashford, will be teaching the class for the majority of the week. On a Monday, Mrs Clift will be teaching the class. During two half-terms we have specific conferencing time that will be covered by Miss Drage, as I work 1:1 with all children on their own personal targets and development, specifically linked to 'catch-up curriculum' due to COVID-19 impact.
Our three topics this year are:
- Autumn - World War Two
- Spring - South America
- Summer- Ancient Egypt
As most of you know already, I love to have a great link and relationship with all children and their families, so please feel free to contact me whenever you need to and I will always help however I can. Use the email address below:

We can't wait to have a fantastic year together!!

Home Learning:
Due to restrictions with COVID-19, we are trying to keep home learning as virtual and contained as possible. We will be sending spelling lists home, which do not need to come back into school. Any other work that we do send home, we will not expect to come back into school again to limit contact between home and school.
So, below you will find some very helpful documents.
1. Spelling lists for Year 2, 3/4 and 5/6. Children need to know and work on these spellings dependent on their ability.
2. Times tables: I have attached a document that has all times tables that children in our Year 5/6 need to know and practise.
3. Reading - I have attached some reading guidance on types of questions and conversations that would be really helpful for you to do with your child at home. The more they read, the better they are at reading!
If you need any help or guidance, feel free to get in touch with me on our class email address:

Many thanks,
Mr B
