English:
Yesterday, you learned about Chinese New Year and discovered that in China the years are named after 12 animals. Today you are going to learn more about the Chinese Zodiac. Watch this clip of the Chinese myth that explains how the animals were chosen to represent the years: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iw0adpGLIdk
Here is another version of the story (a slower animation) – you only need to watch up to 2.20.

Here are the parts of the story mapped out:
In your book
You task today is to create a story map - using 11-12 pictures - for your new version of the story. Follow the steps above but change the animals (all or some of them) and change the race (across a desert, over a mountain or through a forest). Plan your story, as a story map and tell it to a member of your family. Tomorrow you will use your story map to write your own story.
Maths:
Today you will continue to practise addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You will be practising arithmetic questions and using written methods, so you will need to decide on the best methods to use. Can you solve the problem in your head - or do you need to use a written method?
