Thursday 16th April
Hello, me hearties! Tis anotherrrrr fine day upon the seas!
Hope you’re enjoying this week’s learning all about pirating! ‘Ere be today’s voyage…
Look at the image once again from ‘Sea of Thieves’.
Today, I can tell you a little bit more about the image...
The Pirate that you see walking towards the beach is Long John Brownbeard, one of the most fearsome pirates on the seven seas. Brownbeard has been attacked by the English Navy. They took his loot, his food supplies and his ship and left him for dead on a small rowing boat out at sea. In the picture, you can see the rowing boat up on the beach.
This picture was taken half an hour later.
An enormous ship (called a Galleon) anchored onto the jetty of the island….
Who could the ship be? Will they be friendly? What will become of Long John Brownbeard? How will he survive? Will there be another battle? Have they come to rescue Brownbeard? Will he get his revenge on the navy?
Here’s a nice warm up for you:

Yesterday, I asked you to read through some information and think about what sort of role or job you would like on a pirate ship. Well, lucky you! There is a job offer going on ‘The Golden Parrot’. You can apply for any of the jobs on the crew. Which are you going to apply for? Once you have decided, you need to write an application letter that persuades the captain that you are the best person for the job. It might be helpful if you go back to yesterday’s learning and remind yourself of the things that each role need you to be good at. Write your application in the green book.
