Today you are going to think about the famous Olympian – Usain Bolt! You are going to create a story map of his life, so watch these clips carefully and make notes if you need to. Watch this simple animation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtujkNnCYCc.
This fun clip will really help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63zlaB4ebcM
This website is also full of useful information: https://www.ducksters.com/sports/track_and_field/usain_bolt.php
In your books:
Using information from the website and the film, create a story map or cartoon strip of Usain Bolt’s life – in about 8-10 steps. This will be your plan to write a biography or fact file tomorrow.
In maths this week, you will be consolidating your understanding of the number operations, using mental arithmetic and written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You will need to know when to use mental arithmetic and when to use a written method.
There are 3 great adding and subtracting learner guides and helpful video clips at:
There are also 4 multiplying and dividing learner guides and helpful video clips at:

Don’t forget to practise Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS)
This afternoon we are going to look at the life of another Olympic athlete – Ellie Simmonds. At the bottom of this page is a reading comprehension. There are 3 levels – 1-3 stars (3 stars being the most challenging). You decide which text you wish to read and then answer the questions that go with it, in your book.
Remember: Do your exercise plan!
Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. Continue using myON to do your online reading and quizzes at: https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html. We can see how many books you have read and how you are doing on your quizzes. So, go on, let’s get reading!
Please practise your spellings daily. This week’s spellings are below. You will need to see which ones you want to work on. If you can spell the Year 2 spellings, then do the Year 3/4. We will be focusing on 10 spellings every week. On Friday, get someone at home to do your spelling test with you!
