Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on YouTube for children to watch at home from 9:30am and will be available for 24 hours.  All films will be in separate categories on the YouTube channel; https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ

I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).

Note; Keep asking your child to tell you the set 2 and 3 sounds in their home learning packs so that you know which sounds to practise.

Red Words

Red words are the name we use for words the children cannot sound out as they do not follow the phonics language patterns. Their letters make uncommon sounds. The only way to learn these words is from memory, so they need lots of practise! Here are the next set of red words to learn for the next few weeks as there are fifteen;

Remember you can also play some fun games here; https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources

English:

Today we are going to look at the importance of getting enough sleep. In our next story we meet a little tiger who does not want to go to sleep. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVAiXKZHR90

We know that getting enough sleep is very important to help us concentrate and grow bigger but when we sleep, we also get to dream about unusual and exciting things. Today I would like you to write about an amazing dream you have already had. If you can’t remember any, write about a dream you would like to have.

Maths;

Today you are going to solve addition and subtraction word problems. You may wish to draw a number line or tens and ones to help you.

In the top corner of your rapid recall whiteboard, you will have a space to write your number.

Here you can watch events from when the Olympics were held in London in 2012. Team GB were very successful and one day was coined 'Super Saturday' ;
