Thursday 23rd April

Thursday 23rd April

Hello everyone! Nearly at the end of our week now! I hope you’re enjoying all of your dinosaur (and pants) learning! Here is your learning for today.

Don’t forget to send it to the email address..

badgers@knowle.plymouth.co.uk

English:

This week, you have been planning your ‘Pete’s Magic Pants’ stories. Today and tomorrow you will be able to write your story. Remember to stay close to the original story to help you along your way. Use the story map that you made on Monday and your planning from yesterday to help you to write today’s story.

WILF:

  • Punctuation- full stops, capital letters and commas.
  • A story with a beginning, middle and an end.
  • Fronted adverbials.
  • Descriptive language.

Remember that you can use the original story video to help you to write your own story. You just need to change the pants!

Maths:

At the bottom of this page, you will find three maths challenges involving money! Complete all three of these challenges.

Topic:

Art: Have a go at designing your own dinosaur! It can be a completely made up dinosaur. Draw a picture of it and label it. You need to make some considerations before beginning to draw it:

  • Is it a carnivore or a herbivore? This will make a different to how it looks.
  • What does it eat? Does it need to run fast? Does it need to reach high up? Does it need to be able to hide?
  • What colour is it? A bright purple dinosaur will be fun a children’s parties, but it will be spotted easily by predators or prey!
  • Does it have feathers or slimy skin?
  • Where does it live? Is it hot? Is it cold?

Remember to take part in some exercise today and also remember to keep reading!
I look forward to seeing all of your work soon!
