Thursday 2nd July

Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on YouTube for children to watch at home from 9:30am and will be available for 24 hours.  All films will be in separate categories on the YouTube channel; https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ

I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).

Note; Keep asking your child to tell you the set 2 and 3 sounds in their home learning packs so that you know which sounds to practise.

Red Words

Red words are the name we use for words the children cannot sound out as they do not follow the phonics language patterns. Their letters make uncommon sounds. The only way to learn these words is from memory, so they need lots of practise! Here are red words to learn this week;

Storytelling:

Today we are going to learn how to plant a seed.  Then, we would like you to create a story map to show each step of the instructions.

Follow the steps below;

Maths:

Can you complete these subtraction sums?  Remember you can use objects, draw pictures or create a number line to help you.

3 - 2 =

10 - 4 =

12 - 3 =

5 - 3 =

8 - 3 =

19 - 9 =

2 - 1 =

7 - 5 =

23 - 7 =

Topic:  Pick a challenge from the home learning grid.

Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. New books can be accessed online through this link. You will need to register but it is completely free. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/.

Remember you can also access your myON account using your AR reading login; www.myon.co.uk

Talking Challenge;

Would you rather grow tall as you get older or stay the same height as you are now? Explain why.

I would rather _________________ because _____________________

I think _____________________ because _____________________

In my opinion ____________________________
