Thursday 4th June

Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home.

All sets are now looping.

Set 1 Speed Sounds lessons will not match set 1 word times and spelling but the children will benefit from the extra practise.

Note; If you ask your child to read the set 1 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.

Storytelling:

Today, you are going to write a caption to describe a setting from the story.

Choose your favourite setting from the pictures below;

You can begin by labelling the setting to tell me what you can see. Then, you can write a caption or a full sentence to explain what is happening in the picture.

Here is mine;

Thick oozy mud.

They are walking in the mud.

(You might notice I have been a bit sneaky and taken a phrase from the story that matched the picture).

Maths;

Let's begin with our favourite counting song; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0Ajq682yrA

Today, we would like you to write out some number cards from 0-20 and mix them. Can you create a numberline and place the numbers in the correct order? Count and check.

Challenge;

Play the caterpillar ordering game, there are some numbers missing;   https://www.topmarks.co.uk/ordering-and-sequencing/caterpillar-ordering

Topic:  Pick a challenge from the home learning grid.

Reading:.Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. New books can be accessed online through this link. You will need to register but it is completely free. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/.

Remember you can also access your myON account using your AR reading login.

Talking Challenge;

Who do you think these shoes belong to?

I think __________________ because_______________________.

I predict _________________ because ______________________.

In my opinion_______________________________________________.

I agree/ disagree with ________________ because ___________________.
