Good afternoon everyone!
Today we will be looking at one of the most exciting biomes in South America... the Amazonian rainforest. We will be exploring the different plants and animals that can be found there with a specific focus on the 'layers' of the rainforest.
To get you in the mood, have a look at this virtual field trip video... it will give you an idea of what it is like there!
We would like you to create your own drawing or diagram to show the different layers of the rainforest. You can be as creative as you want by doing a simple annotated line drawing or diagram of the different layers, or making a collage using material from around your house. We would like to you to include the different layers of the forest and some of the animals that you might find there - maybe a toucan or a tarantula - just make sure you put your creatures in the right parts of the rainforest!
Have fun and don't forget to send us some pictures of your creations if you can!
Have a look below at the powerpoint; this will give you some of the information you will need - feel free to do a bit of research to find out more!
We have also added some pdf worksheets that you could complete if you prefer. It's your choice, just make sure you do the best you can!
