Topic

Today in Geography we will be learning about the continent where we live, Europe. We will be specifically looking at the human and physical landmarks that can be found in Europe.

But first, we need to recap what we already know about the seven continents and five oceans. Use the graphic organiser below. Can you name the five oceans and seven continents? Where are they located?

During this unit, we will be comparing continents by their population, climate, and location. Use the slides below to learn about the population, climate and location of Europe.

You can also explore Europe by using Google Earth.

We're now going to look at some famous landmarks located in Europe. Below explains what human and physical features are. There is also a video giving you a tour of some landmarks in Europe.

Below are some slides about the most famous human and physical landmarks in Europe.

Can you find these landmarks on a map?

Activity

Below are a few options of some activities you could complete today:

1. Using a map of Europe create an illustrated map (below) about the landmarks in Europe.

2. Do some research about other landmarks in Europe, can you find any other human or physical landmarks in Europe?

3. Choose a few landmarks - draw a picture of them and write some facts you have learnt about them underneath.

4. Using a map of Europe, draw the landmarks (or use the worksheet) and draw an arrow to where they are located.

The resources for these activities are below.
