Tuesday 14th April

Tuesday 14th April 2020

Hello Foxes! Welcome ‘back’! I hope you all had a lovely Easter, if slightly weird!

Did you eat loads of Easter eggs? If you’ve managed to complete some

of your Easter home learning, please send it in to our email address

so I can have a look at it! Here is the email address!

Now Easter holidays are over, it’s back to daily home learning.

Each week, we will have a special theme! This week’s theme is Pirates!

Arrrrrrrrr, me hearties!!!!! ‘Ere be yer learnin’ for today, you rotten landlubbers!

English:

At the bottom of this text, you will find a picture. It is from a game called

‘Sea of Thieves’. Your task for today is to use this picture to create a

word bank. You are going to use the word bank tomorrow,

so the more effort you put in today, the easier tomorrow will be.

Create a word bank like this:

Nouns         Adjectives        Verbs         Adverbs

Look at the picture. What can you see? Choose a noun to focus on. Choose an adjective

to describe the noun. Choose a verb to go with this. Finally, can you choose an adverb.

Here is an example?

Noun: Barrels

Adjective: wooden

Verb: Piled

Adverb: Carelessly

You should come up with at least 6 nouns.

Maths:

Pirates love a good treasure map! So we will be learning about co-ordinates this

week to help us find the pieces of eight! First, watch this video and read the

information to help you to read co-ordinates:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zgthvcw/articles/z96k9qt

Once you have done this, go down to the bottom of this page and complete the

co-ordinates task. You will have to write your answers in your blue books,

unless you have a printer at home!

Topic:

PE: Follow the link and take part in the fun song!:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVfVIcW1alo

Art:  Each pirate crew had their own flag design. Some of the most famous

examples can be found here.

Design your pirate flag. Use your book or some paper to create some designs

for your very own pirate flag.

Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record.

Make sure you tune into Joe Wicks’ daily workout!
