Tuesday 16th June

Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on YouTube for children to watch at home from 9:30am and will be available for 24 hours.  All films will be in separate categories on the YouTube channel; https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ

I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).

Note; Keep asking your child to tell you the set 2 and 3 sounds in their home learning packs so that you know which sounds to practise.

Storytelling:

Retell the story using the story map and create actions.

Ask your child these questions - What did baby bear pack to take with him? Why was he bored on the moon? What could he have taken in his rocket to stop him being bored?

Today we would like you to write a list of items that you would take to the moon if you had a rocket. Remember to use Fred talk and Fred fingers to help you with your spellings.

The list is also attached as a pdf should you wish to print it.

Maths;

Today we are going to revisit comparing amounts. Can you complete the challenges below? Ask your child to explain or show you how they know the answer.

Topic:  Pick a challenge from the home learning grid.

Remember you can also access your myON account using your AR reading login; www.myon.co.uk

Talking Challenge;

Look at the pictures below and discuss; Which rocket would you choose to fly to space in? Explain why.

I think _______________________ because _____________________

In my opinion ____________________________

I noticed that _________________________ so ________________________

I agree/disagree with ________________________________ because ________________________________

On Sunday 21st June, people in England will be celebrating Fathers Day. Do you have someone special that you would like to make a card for? If so, open the document below for instructions to make a rocket card.
