Tuesday 24th March

English:

Watch the YouTube video to recap the steps in the life cycle of a frog.  Then, create a story map, drawing a picture to represent each step.

Here is an example of a story map to show you how we set it out.

Maths:

Count on and back to 20. Make some mistake as you do and see if your child can notice. Which number did I miss? What comes next?

Explain to the children that today they are going to draw pictures to show their adding. There are two sets of sums, with increasing challenge.  The children can still use pictures to represent the answers. They can complete this in their Maths exercise book.

Challenge:  Add to 10

Topic:  Pick a challenge from the home learning grid on the main class page.

Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record.

Phonics:

It is really important that you try and keep daily phonics going as this will ensure they keep making progress with both their reading and writing. Below there is also link to e-books which have been made available for you and your children to access at home. Any queries on which books they should be reading, please do not hesitate to contact me over email.

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home.

Write a character description to describe the Big Bad Wolf. To start, draw a picture of the wolf and colour it in if you can. Next, think of some adjectives (describing words) that you might use to describe the wolf and label your picture with your chosen words. Finally, write some sentences to describe the wolf using your adjectives. Don't forget capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.  Here are some sentence openers you may like to use;

The Big Bad Wolf is ______________

His fur is ____________________

When he is hungry, he feels ___________

The wolf has big _______________
