Tuesday

Today our learning intention is count on from a number to add. This will help children to improve their fluency skills and the speed in which they can get to an answer. It is an important skills they will master as they become more confident number and counting.

ELG 11: Mathematics: Numbers
count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more
or one less than a given number using quantities and objects, add and subtract 2 single-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer.

Starter: Robot Addition

Practise your addition facts to 10 and beyond.

Children drag and drop the robots with questions onto robot placeholders featuring the correct answers.

Work through the Powerpoint. Focus on counting on to solve the addition problems. Encourage children to use their fingers to add with this concept as they are a really good visual tool to support learning.
Complete the activity. Can you find the answers by counting on. You might need an adult to help you write the answer.
