Tuesday 2nd June

Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home.

All sets are now looping.

Set 1 Speed Sounds lessons will not match set 1 word times and spelling but the children will benefit from the extra practise.

Note; If you ask your child to read the set 1 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.

Storytelling:

This week we are going to focus on the story; We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, a lovely story about a family who go on an adventure together.

Watch the author Michael Rosen tell you the story;  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gyI6ykDwds

Can you create a story map to retell the events?

Maths;

Sing our favourite number song; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0Ajq682yrA

Make number cards from 0-20. Show them to your child in order and ask them to say the number. Do it again, but this time, mix the numbers up.

For today's task you will need objects for counting;  pasta, pebbles, anything you can think of.

Play a game of GET ME; Ask your children to tell you and show you a number between 0-20. Model reading the number counting out the correct amount with your objects.

Over to your child; Mix between telling them and showing them a number and get them to count out that amount of objects.

Topic:  Pick a challenge from the home learning grid.

Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. New books can be accessed online through this link. You will need to register but it is completely free. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/.

Remember you can also access your myON account using your AR reading login.

Talking Challenge;

Who do you think these shoes belong to?

I think they belong to a soldier because they look like military uniform.

What do you think?
