Tuesday 30th June

Good morning everyone, we hope you have a lovely day 😊

Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on YouTube for children to watch at home from 9:30am and will be available for 24 hours.  All films will be in separate categories on the YouTube channel.

 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ

I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sound as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).

Note; Keep asking your child to tell you the set 2 and 3 sounds in their home learning packs so that you know which sounds to practise.

You can use this website to play some fun phonics games  https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/

English:

Today we are going to try and sequence the story of The Enormous Turnip. You can either print out the pictures below or draw your own.

When you have all the pictures in the right order, write a descriptive sentence under each one explaining what is happening in the story.

You might like to watch the story again to help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGMpVrkm99I

Maths:

Continue to practise your 2, 3, 5 & 10 Times Tables. If you know you need to learn different times tables to enable you to fly from your country in the times tables trek, then I would continue practising those. Remember there are lots of games online you can use to help you. www.topmarks.com is great for this!

Warm up

Today we will revisit the 5 times-tables. Use your knowledge to solve these problems.

Choose your level of challenge:

In the top corner of your rapid recall whiteboard, you will have a space to write your number.

Year 1 (1-10) - Today's number is 9

Topic: Art

Today we are going to learn about common wild flowers. If you able to go outside, go on a hunt for dandelions, daisies and buttercups.

Can you create an observational drawing of each flower in your books and label them?

Here are some facts about common wild flowers and pictures to help you find them;

Handwriting:

We want you to practise your weekly spellings in our fancy handwriting style. Please have a look at the document attached at the bottom to show you the joins.

Reading:

Login on to myON  https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html where you can read a variety of different books and most of them have a quiz to go with them. I can login and see how you are getting on, so I would love to see you reading different books and try and score 100% on your quizzes. If you have any problems accessing this, please email me on our class email and I will help you.

Spellings:

Please practise your spellings daily. These lists are on our class page. You can practise the Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and the spelling lists.
