Wednesday 10th June

Good morning everybody!  We hope you are all well and are keen to get started!

Remember to send your work to your class email addresses:

Mr Bemister: otters@knowle-plymouth.co.uk

Ms Edwards: foxes@knowle-plymouth.co.uk

Miss Hancock: badgers@knowle-plymouth.co.uk

English:

Today you are going to learn all about the animals in China.  Look at this video clip to discover more:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12tZ-ggQtY0

In your books or on a piece of plain paper:

Choose an animal from the clip and create an information sheet about it.  Remember to write the name of the animal at the top, draw a picture of the animal and add 6-8 facts.

Maths:

Today you will continue to practise addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You will be practising arithmetic questions and using written methods, so you will need to decide on the best methods to use.  Can you solve the problem in your head - or do you need to use a written method?

There are 3 great adding and subtracting learner guides and helpful video clips at:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zy2mn39

There are also 4 multiplying and dividing learner guides and helpful video clips at:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z36tyrd

You can also contact us via email, if you need any help.

Rapid recall whiteboard - Choose a number and complete your board.

Don’t forget to practise Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS)

Topic:

This afternoon you are going to learn all about Chinese New Year.  We celebrate New Year in 1st January but in China the New Year is celebrated between January and February, as a spring of lunar (moon) festival.  Watch this video to learn more:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMjXRIPdWqw

Your task is to create a Chinese paper lantern – use red paper if you have it – or decorate your paper first.  This clip will show you how to make your lantern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeZKYGmuZn0

Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record.  Continue using myON to do your online reading and quizzes at: https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html.  We can see how many books you have read and how you are doing on your quizzes. So, go on, let’s get reading!

Spellings:

Please practise your spellings daily. This week’s spellings are below. You will need to see which ones you want to work on. If you can spell all of the Year 2, then do the Year 3/4, if you can already spell all of those, then do the Year 5/6. We will be focusing on 10 spellings every week. On Friday, get someone at home to do your spelling test with you!
