English & History
Well, it should come as no surprise that today you will be writing paragraph 3 of your non-chronological report and today it will be on Henry VIII. Now this should be a longer paragraph as you’ll need to include details of all of his wives (and there were a lot of them!)
I would like you to make sure you include details relating to the following questions:
What was his full name?
When did he reign?
How long did he reign for?
How many wives did he have?
What were they called?
What happened to them? (detail please!)
Did he have any children?
What was he like?
When did he die?
Now, you could write forever on this chap because he really did do a lot of nasty stuff, but to help you out a bit, I’ve added a couple of great links for you to investigate first:
Today’s Maths is Lesson 12:
Because we know Britain is great, I’d like you to find out a bit more about it. I have attached a map (see below) and I would like you to find the location of the following places, marking your map accordingly:
Seaside resorts: Brighton, Blackpool, Tenby and Warrenpoint
Natural landscapes: Giant’s Causeway, Dartmoor, Brecon Beacons and Loch Ness
Rivers: Thames, Severn, Tweed and Bann
Mountains: Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Slieve Donard
Historic cities: Edinburgh, Bath, York and Canterbury
You can record your findings any way you wish, but it must be clear and easy to read. You may wish to use symbols (in which case you’ll need to come up with a key). If you are unable to print off a map of the UK, then you’ll need to do your best to draw it! Make sure you draw it large enough because there are 20 locations for you to map.
See the documents below which show pictures of the places you need to locate:
Please complete your daily reading and log it in your home/school liaison book.
