This morning you will be creating a poem all about exercise!
Firstly, have a think about what a poem is and what features you might expect to find in a poem.
Have a look at the document attached and the video below. They will help you understand what a poem is and how it is different to other types of writing.
Above you can see two examples of poems all about exercise. Hopefully this will support you and give you some inspiration for when you come to write your poem.
Don’t forget to use rhymezone.com to help you find exciting rhyming words!
Now have a go yourself! When you finish your poem, could you have a go at making an acrostic poem using the word exercise?
If you need some help on constructing your acrostic poem, the video below will help you.
This week you are going to extend your understanding of fractions and mixed numbers by adding and subtracting fractions.
Today you are going to compare and order fractions by making the denominators the same and comparing the numerators.
This afternoon you will be understanding the benefit of yoga on our mental and physical health.
Firstly, answer these questions in your book using just your ideas:
What is mental health?
Why is it important?
How does it link to our physical health?
This image highlights the benefits yoga has. Watch the video below to find out more about how yoga helps children’s mental health.
Now it’s time for you to try it out yourself and experience the benefits of yoga by taking part in a yoga session! Watch and follow the clip below. Make sure you get your adults at home to join in with you!
Now I would like you to draw one of the yoga poses below in the middle of your book. Around the outside, annotate with information about how yoga benefits our physical and mental health. Use further research if you need to.
Reading: Please do your daily reading and record it in your reading record. You can now also go on: https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html to do your online reading and quizzes too! We can see how many books you have read and how you are doing on your quizzes. So go on, let’s get reading!
Please practise your spellings daily. This week’s spellings are below. You will need to see which ones you want to work on. If you can spell all of the Year 3/4 words, then do the Year 5/6. We will be focusing on 10 spellings every week. On Friday, get someone at home to do your spelling test with you!
