Red words are the name we use for words the children cannot sound out as they do not follow the phonics language patterns. Their letters make uncommon sounds. The only way to learn these words is from memory, so they need lots of practise! Here are red words to learn this week;

Today we are going to write some instructions on how to grow an enormous turnip. Remember that when we write an instruction text, we need to include a list of equipment, a labelled diagram and use imperative verbs (bossy verbs) for each instruction.
