Today we will be moving on to subtraction. Remind children that this means the number gets smaller. Show with resources you have around the home. Give your children some simple subtraction sums to 10 that they can solve using resources. If they manage this, move them up to numbers up to 20 but still only taking 1-digit numbers away. Write a setting description to describe grandma's house. To start, draw two pictures of the house (inside and outside), colour it in if you can. Next, think of some adjectives (describing words) that you might use to describe the house and label your picture with your chosen words. Finally, write a few sentences to describe the house using your adjectives. Don't forget to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
