Wednesday

Phonics:

Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons are on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home.

From Monday 20th April, new films will be released at the times shown below from Monday to Friday. The new Speed Sounds lessons YouTube schedule is now available on their website

Each film is around ten to fifteen minutes long and will be available for 24 hours.

I would suggest that you follow this link to review set 1 sounds as your child will know these really well now; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds (turn off the sound so your child can say what they see).   Then, watch the set 2 sound lessons at 10am and 10:15.

 

Note; If you ask your child to read the set 2 sounds in your home learning pack and they know the set 2 sounds really well, move onto watching set 3.

Write out the numbers to 10 twice. You need 2 sets of cards. On the cards you need the numbers to 10 and then the corresponding amount on each card. For example, number 5 would have the number and then 5 dots or circles to show 5.

When you have both sets, place them facedown and then the children will have 2 sets of cards to play pairs with. They must make pairs of number bonds to 10.  It may help if they have resources to help them. If they have a set of 10 objects, then they can count out the amount on the card and then see how many more they need to make 10.

Storytelling: 

Draw and label your favourite animal from the story. Remember to use yours sounds to help you.
