Our learning intention today is to be able to recognise the letters in your name.
30-50: Recognises familiar words and signs such as own name and advertising logos.
ELG:Children read and understand simple sentences. They use phonic knowledge to decode regular words and read them aloud accurately. They also read some common irregular words. They demonstrate understanding when talking with others about what they have read.
Today, your task is to make your name from the chinese letters. You can print the letter sheet out and make your name or you can practise writing the symbols. You will need to write your name first, using your best handwriting. This will help you to know which symbols and letters you need. You might need to print off multiple copies if you have more than one letter that is the same in your name. Have a look at my name below.
As an extension you can paint your name using the chinese symbols.
Can you think of different ways to make your name?
